Scrapbooks of the Freeport Memorial Library include photographs, fliers, programs, letters, bulletins, clippings and other materials about the activities and administration of the library, 1921-1975. Other scrapbooks of note include a volume of letters, postcards, clippings, programs, speeches and notes of, about, and to William Sulzer, 1917-1937, concerning political and business affairs, with many items on mining operations in Alaska; clippings, programs and bulletins, of the Freeport Institute of Community Affairs, Inter-Faith Clergy Council, 1941-1948; Family Counseling Bulletins by the Rev. Raymond T. Hallock, 1945-1948; an album of picture, portrait and novelty postcards from around New York State and the United States, with a few from Europe, ca. 1890-1910; and scrapbooks and loose records of the Exchange Club of Freeport, including newsletters, clippings, photos and programs, 1935-1984. Also scrapbooks on the history of Freeport, Wantagh, Nassau County and Long Island.

New York politician William Sulzer (1863-1941) served as a United States Representative from New York (1895-1912). During 1912 Sulzer chaired the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs. In January, 1913 Sulzer was elected governor of New York State. Shortly after his inauguration, he was impeached by the New York State Assembly on charges of having diverted campaign funds to his own use.
